THE POLISH СHAMBER OF INSURANCE, SCHOOL AND EDUCATIONAL PUBLISHERS AND PROFILINGUA LANGUAGE SCHOOLS ARE LAUNCHING A JOINT CAMPAIGN TO HELP REFUGEES FROM UKRAINE. POLISH LANGUAGE COURSES FOR EMPLOYEES OR FAMILIES OF EMPLOYEES OF UKRAINIAN INSURANCE COMPANIES ARE BEING HELD AT THE PIU HEADQUARTERS. THE CHAMBER HAS ORGANISED SUCH ASSISTANCE FOR ALMOST 100 PEOPLE IN TOTAL.

PIU has organised monthly Polish language courses at A1 level for almost 50 people at its headquarters. The classes are conducted by experienced lecturers, who are provided for two groups free of charge by School and Educational Publishers and ProfiLingua Language Schools. PIU covers the cost of organising the classes for two groups, which are led by Polish language teachers experienced in working with foreigners.

The courses have been specially prepared for Ukrainian citizens who want to work in Poland as soon as possible. For one month, 90 minutes a day, students will learn the most important phrases to help them get around, help with official matters and find a job. All Chamber employees have volunteered to take part in the initiative: for some groups, they will conduct conversations according to the instructions of the lecturers.

“Since the beginning of the war, our main objective has been long-term assistance. Many people will be looking for permanent work and the opportunity to settle in Poland. Insurance companies are taking care of many of their employees and their families. The companies have brought several hundred people to Poland. The involvement of PIU employees is also a professional contact for those who have worked in the market, an opportunity to provide guidance and real help, e.g. in looking for a job,” says Jan Grzegorz Prądzyński, President of the PIU management board.

“Mastering the language even minimally will allow newcomers to be more independent. This is crucial to be able to navigate in a new place of life. This is why we decided to support PIU in this endeavour by organising lecturers and developing classes,” says Jerzy Garlicki, President of the management board of School and Educational Publishers.

Interest in Polish lessons has been so great that PIU has also launched a partnership with the Archibald language school, where two-week intensive courses for further groups are starting on Tuesday 22 March. This means an additional 40 places for those wishing to learn the language. The cost of this course is covered by PIU.
